Neptune, Outer Planet and Gass Giant, enters Aries for a 15-year-long stay from March 30th, 2025 to March 23rd, 2039. The last time Neptune was in Aries was in 1861 - 164 years ago - and the next time will be in the year of 2188. So, this is truly an event of a lifetime.
What does this mean? What will it bring us?
Whenever an Outer Planet such as Neptune changes signs, it heavily impacts us not just on a personal, but also on a collective level. In order to fully appreciate the depth of upcoming changes, we’ll have to analyze and intuit this astrological event in its many different facets.
This article focuses on the societal changes Neptune in Aries may bring. I admit that I have not written down everything I see and expect, as Neptune in Aries brings changes to areas of life that are… a hotbed of discussion right now, to put it mildly. While I’m an honest person, I do not wish to be persecuted for writing about things that aren’t even born of my personal opinions, but rather my astrological analysis of the future.
However, before we start: human beings have choices. We can always choose how we dance with the planet’s journey through Aries, or, in practical terms, with the topics we’ll encounter worldwide, societally, and on a much more personal level. The power lies with you. Please don’t forget that.
Exact Dates of Neptune in Aries:
On March 30th, 2025, Neptune will first enter the sign of Aries. However, due to a phenomenon called retrograde, Neptune actually moves backwards and re-enters Pisces a couple of times before it finally settles into Aries. The exact dates of Neptune in Aries are:
March 30th, 2025, – October 22nd, 2025,
January 26th, 2026, – May 22nd, 2038,
October 21, 2038, – March 23rd, 2039.

Looking Towards the Future, Remembering the Past
Part of this article comes from looking toward the history of Neptune in Aries. The last two times Neptune was in this sign were:
1697-1712:
April 30th, 1697, – September 8th, 1697,
March 1st, 1698, – July 3rd, 1710,
September 3rd, 1710, – April 22nd, 1711,
December 8th, 1711, – February 12th, 1712.
…and 1861-1875:
April 13th, 1861, – October 1st, 1861,
February 14th, 1862, – June 8th, 1874,
September 30th, 1874, – April 7th, 1875.
The next time will be the years 2188 – 2203.
Neptune in Aries: Age of Invention
The first thing that Neptune in Aries will bring us… is invention.
Neptune in Aries allows our creativity and intuition to come up with solutions, plans, and visions for the future that we’ve never seen before. Add to that the inventive energy of Pluto in Aquarius 2023-2044, and the quick-witted, curious, and exploratory Uranus in Gemini 2025-2033, and you’ll see that we’ll enter another age of invention.
A lot of these inventions will be inherently problem-solving in nature and be geared towards serving humanity as a whole. As a historic example, under the last pass of Neptune in Aries (1861-1875), the first fire department was established in the U.K. Before that, a building catching fire would make the seamstress next door, the baker across the street, the people taking a walk outside, or even the entire city drop everything and rush to put the flames out before the fire could spread and get out of control. But that approach just wasn’t working anymore. A professional fire department full of people specialized in (and with the sole job of) handling infernos proved to be much safer and more efficient – which is a method that still stands the test of time and is used today.
A not-so-efficient example for “well-intended on behalf of humanity” unfortunately didn’t quite work out, but has to be mentioned for Neptune in Aries, is the invention of dynamite. Alfred Nobels allegedly invented dynamite not because he wanted to cause pain and death, but because he thought a weapon this deadly would stop all warfare and create world peace. Unfortunately, that did not work out. However, dynamite does actually solve problems in non-deadly contexts, for instance, in construction.
A final, much more positive and hopeful example than weaponry, are the first antiseptic surgery methods. Introduced in the last pass of Neptune in Aries, they saved countless lives – before, the infection contracted through/after the surgery claimed more lives than the surgeries themselves (in the 19th century!!). Try to imagine a world now with no antiseptic wound-care, in or out of hospitals – the effect this had on humanity is astonishing.
Things invented under Neptune in Aries tend to come from a desire to serve humanity as a whole (regardless if it works out that way – though it often does). They also tend to be efficient, problem-oriented, and quite easy to use (all things considered). So, at this time, we can expect a lot of positive inventions.
Alliances
Neptune in Aries will bring us an influx of people banding together to fight for common goals. This sounds pretty counterintuitive at first blush, as Aries is all about individualism and being alone. However, the sign is influenced by the planet, as is the case vice versa. The planet Neptune is one that unites, rather than divides – and this influences the expression of Aries.
With Neptune’s past journey through Pisces (2012-2025/26), we’ve seen the unison of the higher and lower Neptunian archetypes: the savior and the villain. The lines between both diffuse. The “morally grey” person is the love interest everyone salivates over. In literature, movies, or real life, the “good guy” of today can become an irredeemable villain within seconds, and the “irredeemable monster” suddenly becomes the person everyone lauds as the “hero we needed” one chapter later. People are put on pedestals or demonized beyond what humans can expect from each other, and when their humanity emerges – it flip-flops to the other extreme because we saw we were wrong with our first thought (and now think the opposite must be true.)
This will change drastically with Neptune in Aries.
Strength in others will be romanticized to the point where the definition of “the good guy” will change – to include the ability to fight efficiently, even dirty, if it’s for the right cause, which is something we presently only attribute to morally grey characters (a non-morally grey character nowadays seems defined by someone more prone to pacifist, passive, sometimes overly people-pleasing problem-solving skills… and in guys, a prerequisite seems to be that they do whatever their female counterparts want and step back so she can save the day). Under Neptune in Aries? Action is what’s going to being lauded as the thing to have.
No more morally grey – but don’t you dare stand by and get lazy while your woman fights alone. The lines between right and wrong, previously heavily blurred under Neptune in Pisces become more defined… and include calls to action and even, in some cases, calls to enter conflict of some kind. It’s not enough to passively say what you stand for, you have to say it from the chest and mean it. You have to act. You have to walk your talk and put your money where your mouth is under Neptune in Aries – in some cases, go to the mat for it.
And that will, ironically, unify a great many people.
People who share the same beliefs band together to fight for what they think is right and bond as allies with loyalty – even a loyalty that survives signs of the other person being maybe a tad more villainous than heroic (as long as they don’t switch sides and become “the enemy.”) Allies are what’s idolized.
Another aspect of the “unification” theme that we need to talk about is one that’s ending. Under Neptune in Pisces is the “normal” crowd and – using that word with a lot of intention here – the victims (of crimes, unfortunate circumstances, or other) were united in a quite noticeable way.
In one part of the transit, understanding, compassion, and support for people with disabilities were a big theme, in another part of the same event, victims of sexual assault and victims of mental health issues became center-stage and the societal zeitgeist demanded understanding and compassion (both Neptunian qualities) instead of relocating them to the outskirts of society or victim-shaming. People of specific skin colors and ethnic backgrounds that were considered to be disadvantaged (and much worse), then people of various sexual orientations (etc.) came next. There were also a host of people who wanted to play victim to big and very small issues – that they could resolve themselves – that demanded and sometimes were enabled in their cries for special treatment.
Historically speaking, groups considered to be minorities, suffering, or victims, aren’t as prominent in the social consciousness or zeitgeist – which doesn’t mean that they’re completely ignored, but paying so much tribute to the “victimhood narrative” (especially when it’s not warranted) is rare. This is part of Neptune in Pisces: it chose to unite us with the people who are suffering – and at its highest, unable to, or at its lowest, unwilling to help themselves.
A lot of these movements were good, and they made us better people. But especially at the end, we created a climate that celebrated victimhood a bit more than it actually helped people who are suffering.
Under Neptune in Aries, the focus will radically shift. Hopefully, we won’t completely lose the necessary attention, compassion, and support for those who need it more than us – but within the first years of the transit, the spotlight will by and large move on. Victim narratives won’t work as well, narratives of survivors will. Fed up by suffering, people will want to see others that fight for a better life.
People will want to see heroes and warriors. And that’s whom we will all be called to become.
Men and Masculinity
Neptune in Aries will mark a time (which we’ve seen a preview of already, thanks to the North Node in Aries since July 2023) where our understanding men/masculinity change.
Why am I singling on men and masculinity? Because Aries as a sign signifies men. It also talks about leaders, warriors, pioneers, and fighters (which can be anyone), but before it affects those roles, it affects men as a general portion of our demography. On a collective level, this means that the men around us (or you, if you’re a man!) are going to feel this astrological event much more prominently than women. It also means that our collective view on men and masculinity is going to shift, regardless of your own gender – in a way that men will by and large find more positive than the current status quo.
The perspective on what masculinity is will move away from broad-brushed vilification to seeing the strengths and gifts, purpose, and benefits of masculinity on top of its weaknesses (just as we do for women). While men who mess up or act monstrously will still be held accountable, the age of constantly insulting and shaming people without a justified cause – simply because they happen to be men – is coming to a close. No longer does an entire demographic group in the West have to feel ashamed of what they are – regardless of their individual behaviors, personalities, or past.
This is not going to be overnight, but a process that takes place over the next 14 years. For a while, there will be a push-and-pull between extremes: people who idolize masculinity beyond reason, and people who vilify it beyond what’s sane, but an appreciation and compassion for men will eventually win out.
The “Strong Man” Revival in Leadership
The “strong man” is an archetype or a metaphor for a leader of some kind that’s particularly decisive, gets things done, provides safety, and isn’t afraid to knock heads together to fight for others. (We could, of course, now discuss why it’s called “strong man” but I’m trying to explain an archetype already termed and used across multiple languages over multiple different cultures – clarity on the archetype we’re discussing matters and other words/terms don’t quite express what I’m talking about here.)
Key for the “strong man archetype” is a very individualistic, lone-figure type of leadership and a very determined, often ruthless approach that’s used for the good of the people the leader guides and protects. There’s less emphasis on team-based leadership, playing nice, or packaging the delivery politely – though all of this may show up if it’s the best tool to get to the goal. The leader themselves usually seems unflappable and settled within themselves. They thrive in uncertain times and lead from chaos to security and certainty.
Humanity has always been drawn in by people who promise to fulfill this archetype – again, especially when they’re men – but there will be a stronger revival of this archetype that we’ll see play out in all sectors of our lives: political, social, economical, religious, personal, scientific, and more.
We’ll be seeing an influx of leaders who step up to the plate and blaze new trails, rather than compromise or trod the known paths. Leaders who don’t care nearly as much about being likable as they care about cleaning house and getting things in working order.
What about women?
We’ve been talking first about men, then about an archetype that’s male in name (even if it’s not necessarily male in its expression). So, what about the polar opposite – women?
One group’s success doesn’t mean another group’s downfall. Thereby, men succeeding in the world doesn’t mean that women will suffer (especially not after we’ve established so many structures for women.) Also, this isn’t a misogynistic transit by any means (not that such a thing exists in astrology): under the last bout of Neptune in Aries, U.S. states such as Utah and Wyoming granted women the right to vote (which would eventually lead to a Western civilization-wide women’s suffrage success).
However, with the very explosive and highly transformative and revolutionizing energy of Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune in Aries at the same time, with change-bringer Uranus traveling through the polarizing and dualistic sign of Gemini and then through the women-ruling sign of Cancer… We will see inevitable changes for women, too, no use pretending otherwise. (Again: this isn’t just due to Neptune in Aries, and this is not because men are succeeding in the world).
One of the changes will be as mentioned above: women's views on what they want in men will gradually shift - which shifts desires in relationships with men. Specifically for romantic relationships, the focus will be less on finding a partner who supports you in being your independent, juggling all balls of life at once, leader of the relationship, "boss-babe" self, and more on a partner who stands in their own right, has a purpose, leads at times, and fights (their own/both of your) fights. (Which doesn't mean there's no support from them or independence/leadership/etc. from you anymore. The balance might be different, but a good partner doesn't abandon or tyrannize you.)
There’s another highly theoretical possibility for change that might be important to keep in mind: women might be pushing for an end for feminism. We’ve been seeing this more and more from fringe(ish) groups of society in some parts of the West, specifically America (which I don’t live in, btw), as the North Node in Aries gave us a preview of Neptune in Aries. Some of them even push for an end of women voting. What’s important here is that this comes, originates, and is carried by women, not men.
But here’s the deal: if history moves through cycles, then astrology shows us which cycles are about to repeat. Under the last pass of Pluto in Aquarius, democracy was re-introduced to our world with the American and French Revolutions (1780’s and ‘90s). The last time Neptune was in Aries, women started to get the vote (originating in Wyoming, USA in the early 1870’s.) We now have the same events once again: Neptune enters Aries, and Pluto entered Aquarius in 2023. And Neptune and Pluto are both planets that bring change and erode structures that already exist. Because of this, the very things Pluto and Neptune gave us last time they were in the signs might be subject to big changes. So, democracy might be come under fire… and it could be the women rattling the system.
Politically, this is a very potent time for change… so keep an eye on things and shape these times however your conscience dictates.
A ray of hope: out of all the Neptune transits, Neptune in Aries appears to be the one most efficient at creating a society of people that look out for one another and find long-term solutions to problems we’ve been having for a very long time. Neptune in Aries also seeks to act on behalf of all, not just some people (even if men feel this astrological event more strongly – it’s truly very holistically geared towards all of society). We might come up with new ways of living we’ve never seen before... but that doesn’t mean women will suffer.
Conclusion:
There is so much more to say about this astrological event - but we're reaching the end of this article (if you'd like to read more, click here to hear about the personal impact of Neptune in Aries!). In summary, I expect that our world will change quite drastically on a societal level over the next coming years as many changes take place.
We'll see a big focus on inventing and changing physical structures in the world to make our countries a better place for all. We'll see a huge shift in our view of men and masculinity. We'll value fighters, fights, and survivors a lot more, and we'll idolize lone leaders at the top who'll do what it takes (ideally for ethical goals). We'll also idolize our allies.
This will become a very formative time for many and will likely be remembered.
