A Miracle Moon: Super Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (September 18th, 2024)

An eclipse is upon us: and this one is a big deal. The Partial Super Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (September 18th, 2024) ushers in themes that we’ll carry with us for the next 2 years to come. Plus, it’s the first of not two, but three eclipses that happen back-to-back… and it’s also a Super Moon.

Let’s break down what all of this means.

Super Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces Astrology Interpretation

Breaking down the Astro-jargon

What’s an eclipse?

Eclipses are what happens when the Sun, Moon, and Earth align in such a way in the sky that either the Sun’s or Moon’s light is significantly dimmed (because another heavenly body blocks it). Eclipses can be partial (like this one!) or total like the one on April 8th, 2024. Regardless of whether it’s partial or total, it still carries impact… and that remains true even if the eclipse isn’t visible where you live.

What’s a Lunar eclipse?

Lunar eclipses are full moons that fall at such an angle to Planet Earth that the full moon’s light is blocked or altered by Planet Earth’s shadow. Essentially, there’s supposed to be a full moon, big and bright in the sky – but suddenly, the big shadow of our planet falls on the moon and the light in the night sky goes out. I mean, not literally – most of the time the moon just looks a muted shade of brown or red, like it’s been bathed in blood, but that’s not exactly less creepy.

The Axis of Eclipses

Eclipses happen 2-3 times a year and they come in pairs or triplets. While this is the final season of 2024, this particular eclipse is the first of 3. But what’s even more significant is that eclipses can carry a thematic connection based on the astrological signs that they happen in. This means that all eclipses in Aries and Libra are somewhat connected to each other: similar themes may come up for you around each date. This eclipse is the first one that we’ll see on the Pisces/Virgo axis.

What’s a Super Eclipse?

Super Moons are new or full moons that are closer to Planet Earth than normal. Ergo, the moon in the sky is bigger and more impactful (on the tides, or in astrology!) than on normal full or new moons. The astronomical reason for this is that the Moon’s orbit around Earth isn’t completely circular, so there are places within the orbit where the Moon is closest to Earth – and therefore, appears bigger and stronger than usual. As eclipses are new or full moons, this phenomenon can happen to eclipses as well: and if it happens (like now!), then the eclipse is super-charged.

So, let’s put this all together:

Miracle Moon: The Super Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

This is a Moon of dreaming. Of heightened sensitivity. Of planting things for the future.

Lunar Eclipses speak of endings and culminations, but this lunar eclipse is like the tide washing the clean the beach and shores. Yes, it’s an ending of what once was – but it’s also a new beginning, a nourishment of the earth that was parched for water and minerals.

Conjunct Neptune, the planet of dreams and the subtle, intuitive realms, this eclipse illuminates where reality is more than the material, easy-to-grasp, tangible daily world we’re so often entrenched in. We’re confronted with the Mystery. We’re confronted with the power of imagination. We’re confronted with our own longing for something more. Our starvation, even, for dreams that are worth pursuing.

This is a Moon that asks us to seek magic in the mundane, or else risk being caught in a spiral of depression and drained energy.

This is a moon of loss, too, where we’re asked to grieve what was and no longer will be. Only once we’ve fully let go of the past, once the last tear was shed and the last memory honored, can something new sprout from the compost of our past.

Growth is non-linear. It may sneak up on us when we least expect it, drag on for too long before we see results, or seem entirely out of reach… but it always asks us for sacrifice. Our past, our status quo, the daily reality we’re used to… that is the true sacrifice of growth. Make it.

This is a Moon to toss coins in a wishing well. It’s a Moon to ask for miracles and know that one day, you’ll receive them – but not quite in the way you thought you would.

This is a Moon to see your prayers answered in ways so subtle you might miss them, and yet so profound they change your world.

This is a Moon that asks us to dream because our dreams are often visions. Snippets of the future. Hints of our intuitions on what’s to come, or what’s truly under the surface.

This is a Moon that reminds us to be kind – first to ourselves, then to others. Charity is food for the soul. Generosity can cleanse the heart of bitter grief and ancient anger. Selflessness creates a path, surrender can even the way to an empowered life. What in today’s culture sounds like a paradox is and always has been part of a larger truth many older cultures have known and embraced. This Moon reminds us that the why of a truth may be unknown, but it doesn’t need to fit with logic to work.

On this Moon, take some time and think of the future. Ask your intuition to reveal what is necessary for you to know. Find a book or do a reading on intuition or mediumship. Let the world talk to you in ways of signs and synchronicity, and trust what it answers.

A lot of things will not make sense on this eclipse, but as it seeds a glimpse of what’s to come over the next 2 years, the inexplicable will come to make sense.

Pay attention to your dreams and schedule time to be alone. If you’re spiritual or religious, make some time for prayer and for performing spiritual deeds. Cleanse your soul and seek guidance. And have the courage to believe.

This Moon may also feel overwhelming for empaths as the collective pain of not just us and our loved ones, but of the world at large and peoples of the past converges. Make sure to keep appropriate boundaries with those energies and others who wish to take advantage of you.

Immersing yourself in water may feel particularly nourishing to you at this time, as may be time by the sea, ocean, or significant rivers. Holy places may draw you.

Let’s look at how each person is impacted individually as per their charts.

In the Signs:

Please check your Rising, Sun, and Moon signs. Also, please keep in mind that these are general predictions that are not as tailored to you as a personal reading would be. If you’d like to get a personal reading, you can book one here.

Aries:

Keywords: necessary endings, karmic ripening, altruism, sacrifice, spirituality, rest, prayer.

This Eclipse brings a necessary ending to your life. This may play out physically as a door that closes, or it may play out via the unshakeable realization that an era in your life is over. Regardless, take some time to rest and recover. Take time to grieve. This is not a time to throw yourself into work to escape or to take everything as a direct reflection of who you are as a person. An ending is a new beginning, and this one will spark something good for you. Rest, take care of yourself, and seek a higher perspective.

Taurus:

Keywords: hopes and dreams for the future, friendships, groups, social media, fame, results, strategy, legacy.

This eclipse happens in your house of community and friends. This may mean that you’re more impacted by the people you spend the most time with (including via social media), so take some time to disengage from those who aren’t good for you. Alternatively, you may want to seek out communities that feel good to you on an intuitive level. Trust your gut on people and take time to envision your future, so you can work to one day have it.

Gemini:

Keywords: public life, career, mission, reputation, the father, authority figures.

This eclipse brings a change or ending in your work, career, mission, or reputation. This could be something as big as a promotion, career change, or other significant change on the job. Or it could be the end of a project you’ve been working on or the realization that your mission in life is different than what you thought it was. Take some time for creative visualizations on and about your work. Be compassionate as an authority figure or with the authorities in your life.

Cancer:

Keywords: belief systems (including religion), travel, broadening horizons, learning, teaching, faith, luck.

This Moon asks you to sense into what you truly believe in. Beyond rules, beyond guidelines, what feels true to you? How can you live it? You may feel guided to learn or teach about intuitive, spiritual, or belief-related topics. You may also feel yourself called on a great adventure, whether that is one solely happening in your imagination or one that has to do with physical travel, or changes you make. Just know: whatever it is you’re called to do, you’ll likely realize it in some form over the next 2 years.

Leo:

Keywords: wounds, healing, truth, trust, intimacy/sexuality, intuition, shared resources.

This Moon, dear Leo, asks you to let your intuition run free and follow wherever it leads. What can you sense is the truth – about life, people in your life, or specific situations? This Moon is in its own way, the start of a 2-year-long breaking point. Your intuition will transform you, heal your heart, and cleanse your life. Right now, there are no coincidences in your life. Trust yourself. (Unrelated to that: Be careful of money drainage and unprotected sex, specifically due to disease prevention.)

Virgo:

Keywords: 1-on-1 relationships, business partnership, marriage, commitment, love.

This eclipse reveals the truth about your one-on-one relationships, be that in love, marriage, or business. At this time, you may experience longing for what truly matters to you and what you truly need in a partner. Listen to the feeling and, once the moon changes signs again, try to see whether you can change the relationship to meet your needs. For some people, this may also be a time when you meet a new love or say goodbye to someone in your life.

Libra:

Keywords: health, wellbeing, daily chores, work, pets, being of service, routines.

This eclipse asks you to set apart some time for self-reflection. Where is the way you spend your days – from your daily routines to the work you do in your job to the way you support your friends and family – truly what matters to you? Where do you need change? This is also a time to think of not only yourself but also others. How can you impact other people in ways that don’t drain you? If so, can you do that more? Regardless of that, big changes in your daily life or work may occur.

Scorpio:

Keywords: romance, children, pleasure, creativity, fertility.

First off, this is a Moon of fertility (and failing contraception – so please keep that in mind). Other than that, this is a Moon to dream of love. If you don’t have a partner, what does your intuition tell you about whom you need? If you have someone, what do you dream of for your future? What does your intuition tell you that they (and you!) need? This is also a time of breakthroughs in love, parenting, and/or creativity.

Sagittarius:

Keywords: family, parents, home life, privacy, foundations, psychology, your roots.

This eclipse impacts your home, private life, and/or families the most. We usually spend time rushing from one action to the next, chasing adventures and trying to get our daily chores done. At this time, spend some time with rest – at home – and with your loved ones. There may be big changes with roommates or family members, including heightened fertility. You may need to make peace with your past or old wounds. Your dreams show you which foundations you want or need to have a fulfilled life.

Capricorn:

Keywords: communication, siblings, the media, learning, perception, local life.

This is not a Moon to speak before thinking. This is not a time to trust information unless it feels right intuitively. This is a Moon to learn how to trust your gut and to be silent and truly listen to people before making up your mind. At this time, your intuition gives you valuable information even if it is confusing. Your local life and siblings might experience a big change. Find what’s hidden from you. Secrets are your enemy right now.

Aquarius:

Keywords: your values, self-worth, money, monetizable skills, assets.

At this Moon, be careful of overspending or making investments that don’t have your heart in it. Your intuition may lead you to profitable opportunities (business/otherwise). Where is money (or the way you make it) something that drains your spirit? Where and how can you make it, spend it, and keep it that feels good to your soul? While we usually have a more “practical” view of money than this, this event and developments over the next two years may show us where a holistic, truthful, and intuitive view of money becomes more sustainable.

Lastly, let intuition reveal what your true values are, and what the values the people around you hold (there may be surprises here). Invest your time, skills, finances, and assets accordingly.

Pisces:

Keywords: new beginnings, identity, first impressions, your body, life path, big changes.

This eclipse may be the herald of a big change for you in your life, but also within you. Your intuition is supercharged right now. Take some time to figure out where it wants you to go. You may find yourself at the end of an era in your life, or find something out about yourself you hadn’t known existed. Trust in your own growth. Life is about to get easier for you through processes that will happen over the next 2 years. Trust and have faith in life – and yourself.
